Frequently asked questions
At what age can a youth join?
Cub Scouting is for youth in kindergarten through fifth grade. Youth can join Scouts BSA if they are at least 10 years old, currently in the fifth grade and register on or after March 1st; OR have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old, OR are age 11 but have not reached age 18. Venturing is for young men and women at least 13 years old who have completed the eighth grade, or are age 14 and not yet 21.

When can I sign up my child for Scouting?
The sooner you sign up the sooner your child can start joining in the fun, you can sign up your child at any point during the year with certain limitations on age requirements.
What is the difference between Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA and Venturing?
Cub Scouting is a family-oriented program designed specifically to address the needs of younger boys and girls. Scouts BSA is designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster.
Venturing provides positive experiences through exciting and meaningful youth-run activities that help members pursue their special interests, grow by teaching others, and develop leadership skills.
Can my daughter join?
Yes! Please contact us directly for more information based on your child's age, we do encourage all children interested to join regardless of their gender.
What should my child bring or wear to meetings?
Certain items will be required or highly suggested, however we encourage all families to speak with us directly at a meeting or event before buying any uniform items, books, or supplies.
